My background and training
are in spirituality, soul care and helping others listen for the traces of the Divine
in our midst. In the first half of my life
I worked as Chaplain in diverse interfaith and ecumenical settings, and most
recently, as Chaplain within a large retirement community. And with deep care
and sensitivity to the Holy Ground of this privilege, I helped others say
“goodbye” to this life. Been the last
voice they heard in this world. In 2019,
I decided to leave the realm of death and dying and endings, and restart my
life in a new and more creative way. That was when I learned that the love and
meaning that art brought to me in my childhood would be my teacher, my friend. And a lifeline to a new way of being, to create,
and speak of life and joy in this “second half” of my own living.
You see, the dying taught
me this: live now. Move. Be joy in the midst of this crazy messed up world, not
in spite of it. Push back, and fight
against darkness and despair.
My work is vibrant and
energetic in both its process and outcome, using plaster trowels, gravity, and
palette knives I can often be seen tossing paint onto large canvases in my
outdoor pop-up studio while little boys on bikes cheer the process. This work is inspired by the daily joy and
privilege of living, and the creative, still voice inside that I hear while in
quiet, meditating under deeply rooted trees, and while watching my dog enjoy
every little flower on her path.
With paintings enlivening
homes and businesses, I hope to make each day more playful and joyful, one
painting at a time.
My art business has been designated as a "Trusted Art Seller" with The Art Storefronts Organization, which means you can shop with confidence, and know that I stand behind the quality and value of my products.
